§ 35751 Petition Data Collection Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If the State Board of Education gets a petition (like a request) about schools, they need info to study it.
  • •County and school district leaders must give the Board the numbers and facts they ask for.
  • •This helps the Board make a good plan based on real info.

Example

A group of parents wants to change school boundaries so their kids can go to a closer school.

The parents send a request to the State Board. The Board then asks the county and school leaders for info like how many kids are in each school, how far they travel, etc. The leaders must give this info so the Board can decide if the change is a good idea.
