§ 33501 Educational Advisory Body Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •There are two types of groups that give advice on school stuff: one helps the state board, and the other helps the Superintendent.
  • •The first group, called an 'educational policy advisory commission,' has experts and regular people who give advice on big school rules.
  • •The second group, called an 'educational advisory committee,' has specialists or experts who help the Superintendent with school programs.
  • •The Superintendent or their helper must be part of the first group to take notes and help out.

Example

A group of teachers, parents, and a scientist meet to talk about how to make science classes better in schools.

This group is an 'educational advisory committee' because they are experts and regular people giving advice to the Superintendent on how to improve science programs.
