§ 33445 Dual Language Program Funding

Key Takeaways

  • •This law gives money to schools to help with special programs where kids learn in two languages.
  • •The money can be used for things like training teachers, hiring bilingual staff, and buying books in different languages.
  • •Schools must use this money in addition to their regular funding, not to replace it.
  • •The goal is to help kids who are learning English and to support programs where kids learn in two languages.

Example

A school wants to start a program where kids learn in both English and Spanish.

The school can use the grant money to train teachers, hire bilingual staff, and buy Spanish books. This helps kids who speak Spanish at home learn English better while also keeping up with their Spanish.
