§ 33309 Board Authority To Create Divisions

Key Takeaways

  • •The State Board of Education can create new groups (divisions) inside the Department of Education if they think it will help them do their job better.
  • •The Director of Education suggests these new groups, but the Board makes the final decision.
  • •This is in addition to the Division of Libraries, which already exists.

Example

Imagine the Department of Education is like a big school. They already have a 'Library Club' (Division of Libraries).

If the principal (Director of Education) thinks they need a new club, like a 'Science Club', they can ask the school board (State Board of Education). If the board agrees, they can start the new club to help the school run better.
