Key Takeaways

  • •Retired school workers can do some part-time work for schools after retiring, but there’s a limit on how much they can work in a year.
  • •They don’t have to pay into the retirement fund again for this extra work.
  • •The school must keep track of how much the retired worker earns and report it every month.

Example

A retired teacher wants to help out by teaching a few classes part-time at their old school.

The teacher can do this, but only up to a certain number of days or hours per year. The school will track how much the teacher earns and send reports to the retirement system.
