§ 24113 Disability Retiree Employment Rules

• •If you retire early because you got hurt or sick at work, you can still go back to work in some cases.
• •Going back to work won’t stop your retirement pay, unless there’s a special rule that says so.
• •You won’t have to pay into the retirement plan again from your new paycheck.

A firefighter gets hurt on the job and retires early because of it. Later, they feel better and want to work again as a firefighter.
