§ 21185 Trust Petition Document Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're asking the court for something about a trust, you must include copies of all the important papers related to it.
  • •This includes any changes, gifts, or papers that show someone gave up their rights to the trust.
  • •You have to include everything you know about—no hiding papers.

Example

Your grandma set up a trust to give her house to her kids, but one of them signed a paper saying they don’t want it anymore.

If you’re asking the court to do something with the trust, you must include a copy of that paper where they gave up their rights.
