§ 19959 Grant-Funded Construction Bidding

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government gives money to help pay for a building project, the job must be given to the lowest bidder.
  • •The person who wants the job has to say how much they will charge, and the cheapest one gets it.
  • •This rule is for all building projects that get money from this special fund.

Example

A school wants to build a new playground and gets some money from the government to help pay for it.

The school has to ask different builders how much they would charge to build the playground. The builder who says they can do it for the least amount of money gets the job.
