§ 19725 Bond Election Certification Process

Key Takeaways

  • •After an election, the board checks the votes 7 days later at 8 PM.
  • •If more than half the votes say 'yes' to issuing bonds, the board writes it down and tells another board.
  • •The other board then makes the bonds as promised, using the district's building money.

Example

A small town votes on whether to build a new school.

If more than half the people vote 'yes,' the town board writes it down and tells the county board. The county then makes the bonds to pay for the school using the town's building money.
