§ 19643 Board Organization Election

• •After an election, the board must have its first meeting.
• •In that meeting, they pick a president and a secretary from the board members.
• •The president and secretary work for one year or until new ones are chosen.

A school board just had an election and now has new members.

At their first meeting, the board members will vote to choose one person to be the president and another to be the secretary. These two will hold their roles for one year unless someone else is picked to replace them sooner.
