§ 19479 Library Access And Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Libraries must always be free for people who live in the area or pay taxes there.
  • •The library can make rules, and if you break them, you might have to pay a fine or be banned from the library.

Example

A person keeps talking loudly on their phone in the library, even after being asked to stop.

The library can make a rule that says no loud talking on phones. If someone breaks this rule, the library can fine them or tell them they can't come back for a while.
