§ 18020 Foundation Program Funding Adjustments

• •In 1982-83, the cost of the foundation program was $12 per person.
• •Every year after 1983-84, the cost goes up by the same percentage that school money limits go up across the state.
• •The increase is based on how much more money schools get compared to the year before.

If the school money limit went up by 3% last year, the foundation program cost will also go up by 3% this year.

The law says the foundation program cost increases by the same percentage as the school money limit increase. So if schools get 3% more money, the foundation program cost also rises by 3%.
