§ 1775 County Library Annual Reports

Key Takeaways

  • •The county school boss must send a report about school libraries to the state every year by August 31st.
  • •The report should talk about how the libraries are doing and include numbers and facts the state wants.
  • •The state can ask for specific info or send forms to make sure all counties report the same way.

Example

Your county’s school boss is in charge of the school libraries.

Every year, they have to tell the state how the libraries are doing—like how many books they have or how many kids use them. The state might send them a form to fill out so all the counties report the same things.

The reports of the superintendent shall, in addition to other matters deemed expedient by the librarian and the superintendent, contain such statistical and other information as is deemed desirable by the State Department of Education. For this purpose the State Department of Education may send to the several county superintendents or librarians instructions or question blanks so as to obtain the material for a comparative study of library conditions in the state.
