§ 17174 Authority Membership And Representation

Key Takeaways

  • •A group of three important people run this authority: the Treasurer (who is in charge), the Director of Finance, and the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
  • •Each of these three can send someone else from their team to meetings if they can't go.
  • •None of them get paid for being in this group, but they can get money back for things like travel or supplies they needed for the job.

Example

The Treasurer is too busy to go to a meeting, so they send their assistant instead.

The assistant can go to the meeting and make decisions for the Treasurer. The assistant won’t get paid extra for going, but if they had to drive far and pay for gas, they could get that money back.
