§ 16501 State School Construction Costs

This law says the state should help pay for building new schools when big state construction projects make more kids move into an area.

Key Takeaways

  • •If the state builds something big (like a highway or bridge), more people might move nearby.
  • •More people can mean more kids, so schools might need to get bigger.
  • •The state will help pay for new schools if this happens.

Example

The state builds a new highway, and suddenly a lot of new families move to a small town.

The town's schools get too crowded, so the state helps pay to build new classrooms or schools.
