§ 15734 Grade Level Repayment Limits

• •The yearly repayment for a grade level is capped.
• •The cap applies no matter how many separate payments (apportionments) are made.
• •The maximum repayment is the amount you would get using the formula in Sections 15729‑15735 for a single payment.
• •This rule overrides any other rule in the same chapter.

A school district receives three different funding pieces for 4th‑grade classes. Each piece normally would require a repayment, but the law limits the total repayment for the year to the amount that would be due for only one of those pieces.

Even though there are three payments, the district only has to repay up to the amount that one payment’s formula would give, so they don’t have to pay back more than that cap.
