§ 1278 County Teacher Institutes

• •County superintendents are allowed to organize teacher training.
• •The training can be offered to any school district within the county.
• •The law gives them the authority to do this on behalf of the districts.

A middle school teacher in a rural county gets invited to a weekend workshop on new math teaching methods that is organized by the county superintendent.

Because the law says the superintendent can hold teacher institutes for the districts, the teacher can attend the workshop without the individual school having to set it up.
