§ 12306 Potash Revenue District Sharing

If a potash mine or lease sits in more than one school or community‑college district, those districts must split the money they get from it equally.

Key Takeaways

  • •When a potash deposit or lease crosses district lines, all involved districts share the revenue.
  • •The sharing is always equal – each district gets the same portion.
  • •This rule applies to elementary, high, unified school districts and community‑college districts.

Example

A potash mine is built on land that is half in District A and half in District B.

The money the state sends to each district for the mine (under the other law) is divided 50‑50, so both districts get the same share.
