§ 10900 Community Recreation Programs

This law says the state wants people to stay healthy and be good citizens by supporting community recreation, and it lets local governments and schools set up those recreation programs.

Key Takeaways

  • •The main goal is to keep people healthy and encourage good citizenship.
  • •Cities, counties, school districts, and other public groups are allowed to run recreation programs.
  • •Programs should be for both children and adults in the community.

Example

A town builds a public park with basketball courts and runs free after‑school sports leagues for kids and adult fitness classes.

The law gives the town permission to organize those sports and fitness programs so kids stay active and learn teamwork, and adults can stay healthy too.
