§ 10874 Education Funding Transfers

This law tells the state to move $2,452,000 from the 2021 budget to six different education and job agencies.

Key Takeaways

  • •The Director of Finance must move the money.
  • •Each agency gets a fixed amount listed in the law.
  • •All the pieces add up to the total $2,452,000.

Example

A public school gets $1,702,000 to buy books and computers.

Because the law says $1,702,000 must go to the State Department of Education, the school can receive that money for its needs.

How to Calculate

Total Transfer = $1,702,000 + $150,000 + $150,000 + $150,000 + $150,000 + $150,000

  1. List each amount the law says to give out.
  2. Add the six numbers together.
  3. Make sure the sum equals $2,452,000, the total the law authorizes.

Checking that the money adds up correctly.

Result: Total = 1,702,000 + 150,000 + 150,000 + 150,000 + 150,000 + 150,000 = $2,452,000
