§ 10868 Managing Entity Procurement Powers

This law lets the group in charge do whatever is needed to follow the chapter, like changing how the state buys things and making deals with big data companies to help students and save money.

Key Takeaways

  • •The managing entity can use any reasonable power to meet the chapter’s duties.
  • •It can ignore other laws to change or expand state purchasing methods.
  • •It can contract with national data service providers to save money and make services easier for students.

Example

A state university wants a new online learning system for all its campuses.

The managing group can skip the normal state buying rules and sign a contract with a national data provider, getting the system cheaper and faster for students.
