§ 10403 Experimental Program Exemption

• •It does not change any existing laws about experimental math or reading programs.
• •Schools and community colleges cannot outsource jobs that must be done by classified school employees.
• •The rule applies to any contracts the district might try to make for those required services.

A school district wants to hire a private company to run a reading program that the McAteer Act says should be done by its own classified employees.

Because of this law, the district cannot contract the work out; the reading program must be run by the school’s own classified staff, just like the original rules say.
