§ 101411 School Facilities Funding Allocation

This law says money put into the 2024 State School Facilities Fund can be used to help schools and to pay back any loans or bonds that were taken from the fund, plus interest.

Key Takeaways

  • •Money in the 2024 fund is meant to aid school districts and county education boards.
  • •The fund must follow the rules of the Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act when giving aid.
  • •Any loans or advances taken from the fund have to be repaid with interest, and the bond expense fund must be reimbursed.

Example

A county school district borrows money from the fund to build a new science lab.

The fund can later use its own money to pay back that loan with interest and also reimburse the bond fund that helped pay for the project, while still having money left to give to other schools that need help.
