§ 103 Federal Corporation Immunity

This law says that any corporation that is completely owned by the U.S. government is treated as part of the government and gets the same legal protections as a government agency.

Key Takeaways

  • •A corporation that is 100% owned by the U.S. government is considered a government agency.
  • •It receives all the same privileges and immunities as its owners.
  • •This rule applies to corporations organized in any state, DC, or under U.S. federal law.

Example

A company that makes cars is owned entirely by the U.S. government.

Because the company is fully owned by the government, it is considered a government agency and can use the same legal protections, such as immunity from certain lawsuits, that the government enjoys.
