§ 2514 Draft Document Delivery Rules

• •If you write a check that takes more than 3 days to pay, you must give the papers related to it when the check is accepted.
• •If the check pays right away (in 3 days or less), you only give the papers when the check is actually paid.
• •This rule can be changed if everyone involved agrees to something different.

You sell your bike to someone and they pay with a check that takes a week to clear.

You have to give them the bike’s papers right when they accept the check, not when the money actually arrives.
