§ 8172 Construction Lender Disclosure Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •When you apply for a building permit, you must write down the name and address of the bank or lender giving you money for the project.
  • •If you don’t have a lender, you must say so on the form.
  • •Even if you forget to write the lender’s info, you still have to tell them about the project later if the law says so.

Example

You want to build a new house and need a permit from the city.

On the permit form, you must write the name and address of the bank loaning you money for the house. If you’re paying with your own money and don’t have a lender, you write that instead. Even if you forget to fill this part out, you still have to tell the bank about the project later if the law requires it.
