§ 8064 Co-Owner Action Authorization

Key Takeaways

  • •If you own something with someone else, you can fill out papers for both of you.
  • •You must write down the name and address of the other owner when you do this.
  • •This only works if you are really doing it for the other owner, not just pretending.

Example

You and your friend own a car together. You need to send a letter about the car.

You can write and send the letter for both of you, but you must include your friend’s name and address in the letter.
