§ 8 Homeowner Improvements Restrictions

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't change or fix up your home without checking the park's rules first.
  • •You might need a permit from the city or state to do the work.
  • •If the park rules or your rental agreement say so, you must get written permission from the park management before starting.
  • •If you don't follow these rules, you could be kicked out of the park.

Example

You want to build a small deck outside your mobile home.

Before you start building, you need to check if the park allows decks. You might also need a permit from the city. If the park rules say you need permission, you have to ask the park management in writing. If you build the deck without doing any of this, the park could make you leave.
