§ 4280 Association Incorporation Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you create a group to manage a neighborhood or shared property (like condos), you must tell the state it's for that purpose.
  • •You have to say where your group's office is, even if it's not in the neighborhood.
  • •You must give the name and address of the person or company managing the group, if there is one.
  • •If you already filed papers before 2014, you don’t have to do it again.

Example

A group of people own condos together and want to make rules for the shared pool and parking.

They must file papers with the state saying they are a group managing condos, where their office is, and who is in charge.
