This law says that when someone accepts an offer, the acceptance is considered communicated the moment the other person receives it, even if the acceptance is still being sent.

Key Takeaways

  • •Acceptance is official the moment the other person receives it.
  • •It doesn't matter if the message is still being sent.
  • •The law treats the acceptance as communicated once it reaches the other party.

Example

You email a friend to say yes to their plan to meet for pizza tonight.

Your friend's acceptance is official the instant they get your email, even if the email is still traveling across the internet.
