§ 922 Physician License Reinstatement Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If a doctor's license expired less than 5 years ago, they can get it back without taking big tests again.
  • •To get the license back, the doctor must fill out a form and show they kept learning while their license was expired.
  • •The doctor must also give their fingerprints and pay a small fee for that.
  • •The doctor does not have to pay extra money for late fees or penalties when getting their license back.

Example

A doctor named Sarah stopped working for 3 years to take care of her kids. Now she wants to start working again.

Sarah can get her doctor's license back because it has only been 3 years. She needs to fill out a form, show she kept learning during those 3 years, and give her fingerprints. She won’t have to pay extra fees for being late.
