§ 8506 Structural Pest Control Licensing

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'structural pest control operator' is someone with a special license to do pest control work.
  • •If a licensed pest control person dies, their family or manager can keep the business running for up to one year to finish or sell it.
  • •During that year, they can't take new jobs unless they hire another licensed pest control operator to run things.

Example

A licensed pest control operator passes away, leaving behind a business with ongoing contracts.

The operator's family can keep the business open for up to a year to finish the existing jobs or sell the business. But if they want to take new jobs, they must hire another licensed pest control operator to manage the work.
