§ 7452 Driver Contract Termination Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Drivers and companies must sign a written agreement before the driver can use the app.
  • •The company can't fire a driver unless there's a good reason listed in the agreement.
  • •If a driver is fired, they can appeal the decision.

Example

A driver signs up to work for a ride-hailing app.

The company must give the driver a written contract before they can start driving. If the driver gets fired, it has to be for a reason that's already written in the contract, like breaking the rules. The driver can also ask the company to look at the firing again if they think it's unfair.
