§ 7040 Government Entity Exemptions

Key Takeaways

  • •Government workers and certain groups don't have to follow the rules in this chapter when they're doing their official jobs.
  • •This doesn't mean they can hire someone without a license to do work that needs a license.
  • •This rule starts on January 1, 2025.

Example

A city wants to fix a broken pipe on a public street.

The city workers don't have to follow the usual rules in this chapter because they're doing their official job. But they can't hire an unlicensed plumber to do the work if the work needs a licensed plumber.
