§ 6172 Law Corporation Attorney Conduct

Key Takeaways

  • •This law does not change the Supreme Court or State Bar's power to discipline lawyers.
  • •Lawyers can work for or own a law corporation if they follow the rules in this law and the Professional Corporation Act.
  • •The law only changes things if it says so directly.

Example

A lawyer wants to start a law corporation with other lawyers.

This law says it's okay for lawyers to own or work for a law corporation, but they still have to follow all the other rules for lawyers. The Supreme Court or State Bar can still punish them if they break those rules.
