§ 6015 Attorney Board Membership Requirements

No person is eligible for attorney membership on the board unless both of the following conditions are satisfied: (a) He or she is an active licensee of the State Bar. (b) Either: (1) Prior to October 31, 2020, if elected, he or she maintains his or her principal office for the practice of law within the State Bar district from which he or she is elected. (2) If appointed by the Supreme Court or the Legislature, he or she maintains his or her principal office for the practice of law within the State of California. (Amended by Stats. 2018, Ch. 659, Sec. 17. (AB 3249) Effective January 1, 2019.)
