§ 5028 Continuing Education Exceptions

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're an accountant but not working with the public, you might not need to take extra classes every year.
  • •If you're sick, in the military, or have a really good reason, you might also skip these classes.
  • •If you start working with the public again, you'll have to take the classes the board tells you to.

Example

An accountant joins the army and can't take classes for a few years.

While they're in the military, they don't have to take the extra classes. But when they come back and start helping people with taxes again, they'll need to take the classes the board says.
