  • •A music therapist makes a special plan for each person or group. The plan has goals and ways to use music to help with things like feelings, thinking, or moving.
  • •Music therapy can include lots of fun activities like singing, writing songs, listening to music, or even dancing to music.

Example

A kid named Alex has trouble talking and gets really nervous in big groups. His parents take him to a music therapist.

The music therapist makes a special plan for Alex. They might have Alex listen to calm music to help him relax. They could also have Alex write simple songs to help him talk better. Over time, Alex might feel less nervous and talk more easily.
