§ 3755 Respiratory Care Misconduct Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •Respiratory care workers can get in trouble for doing their job wrong or unsafe.
  • •Hurting a patient or doing bad things to them is a big no-no.
  • •If they keep doing bad things, they can get fined up to $1,000 or go to jail for up to 6 months.
  • •The board decides what is bad behavior for respiratory care workers.

Example

A respiratory therapist keeps giving the wrong breathing treatment to a patient with asthma, even after being told it's wrong.

This is bad because it's like giving the wrong medicine on purpose. The therapist can get in trouble with the board and might have to pay a fine or go to jail if they keep doing it.
