Key Takeaways

  • •Doctors in California can hire physician assistants to help them, but the assistants must have finished an approved school and have a license.
  • •The physician assistant can only do the same kind of work that the doctor is allowed to do in their specialty.
  • •If someone breaks these rules, they can go to jail for up to 6 months or pay a fine up to $1,000, or both.

Example

This is against the law. The doctor could get in trouble, like paying a fine or even going to jail for a little while.
