Key Takeaways

  • •This section defines words used in the law, like 'consumer' and 'department'.
  • •A 'consumer' is someone who buys or leases things for themselves or their family.
  • •The law cares about things like cost, safety, and quality of stuff you buy.
  • •It also cares about correct info on labels, ads, and sales terms.

Example

You buy a toy for your kid, but it breaks the first day.

The law says the toy should be safe and work well. If it doesn’t, the store or company might be in trouble for selling bad stuff.
