§ 3006 Optometry Advertising Definitions

Key Takeaways

  • •Advertising for eye doctors (optometrists) or glasses/sunglasses includes almost anything that tells people about it.
  • •This means ads in newspapers, online, on the radio, posters, signs in stores, or even letters.
  • •If it’s used to tell people about eye care or selling glasses, it counts as advertising.

Example

An eye doctor puts up a poster in their office window saying they sell cheap glasses.

This poster counts as advertising because it tells people about selling glasses, which is covered by the law.
