§ 2316 Physician Board Expert Defense

Key Takeaways

  • •If a doctor helps the medical board check another doctor's work, and gets in trouble with their own doctor group because of it, the state can help them.
  • •The state's lawyer (Attorney General) will step in to defend the doctor in this trouble.
  • •This only happens if the trouble is directly because the doctor helped the board.

Example

Dr. Smith helps the medical board review another doctor's work. Later, Dr. Smith's own doctor group tries to punish them for what they said during the review.

The state will send a lawyer to help Dr. Smith fight this punishment because it happened only because they helped the board.
