§ 21602 Junk Yard Definition

Key Takeaways

  • •A 'junk yard' is any place where old, unwanted stuff is collected and stored.
  • •It doesn't matter if it's inside a building or outside in an open area—if junk is kept there, it's a junk yard.
  • •This rule was added a long time ago (1941) to help define what counts as a junk yard.

Example

Your neighbor has a big backyard full of old cars, broken fridges, and piles of rusty metal.

Under this law, your neighbor’s backyard is considered a 'junk yard' because it’s a place where a bunch of old, unused stuff is stored.
