§ 20705 Licensing Exemptions For Hygienists

• •You can work or train to get certified as an industrial hygienist, even if you're not certified yet.
• •Students learning to be industrial hygienists can do the work as part of their school training, as long as they're being watched by a teacher or supervisor.

A nurse who is licensed in the state wants to help with workplace safety but isn't a certified industrial hygienist.

The nurse can still do her nursing job and help with safety stuff, but she can't say she's a 'certified industrial hygienist' or 'CIH' because she doesn't have that certification.
