§ 2010 Board Member Appointment Terms

Key Takeaways

  • •Board members get to stay in their job for 4 years.
  • •If someone leaves the board early, a new person is picked to finish their time.
  • •The person who picks the board members also picks the replacement.

Example

Imagine your school's student council has a rule that each member stays for 4 years. If one member moves away after 2 years, the principal picks a new student to finish the remaining 2 years.

This law works the same way. If a board member leaves before their 4 years are up, someone new is chosen to take their place for the time left.
