§ 19900 Gambling License Security Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't take someone's stuff (like stocks or ownership) from a gambling company without asking the commission first.
  • •This rule applies to gambling companies, their parent companies (if not public), and certain business partnerships with gambling licenses.
  • •The commission has special rules for how you can take someone's stuff in these cases.

Example

You lent money to a casino owner, and they didn’t pay you back. You want to take their shares in the casino as payment.

You can’t just take the shares. You must ask the gambling commission first and follow their rules.
