§ 19447 Consent Appeal Hearing Timeline

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone disagrees with a decision about permission (consent) for something, they can ask for a review.
  • •The board must hold a meeting to listen to both sides.
  • •The board can set up this meeting very quickly, even within 24 hours if needed.

Example

Imagine your neighbor wants to build a fence, but you think it’s too close to your property. You say no, but they appeal to the board.

The board will hold a meeting to hear why you said no and why your neighbor wants to build the fence. They can set up this meeting really fast, even the next day.
