§ 116 Director Oversight Of Discipline

(a) The director may audit and review, upon the director’s own initiative, or upon the request of a consumer or licensee, inquiries and complaints regarding licensees, dismissals of disciplinary cases, the opening, conduct, or closure of investigations, informal conferences, and discipline short of formal accusation by the Medical Board of California, the allied health professional boards, and the Podiatric Medical Board of California. The director may make recommendations for changes to the disciplinary system to the appropriate board, the Legislature, or both. (b) The director shall report to the Chairpersons of the Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee and the Assembly Business and Professions Committee annually, commencing March 1, 1995, regarding the director’s findings from any audit, review, or monitoring and evaluation conducted pursuant to this section. (Amended by Stats. 2019, Ch. 351, Sec. 21. (AB 496) Effective January 1, 2020.)
